The wines in the September Case of the Month are:

Suriol Reserva Brut Nature
Brisk acidity, creamy texture, and flavors of orchard fruits, nuts, fresh bread, and sea salt. Bottle aged on the lees for at least 15 months before disgorgement.

Soplo Garnacha

Fruit-forward with plum and raspberry backed up with earthy notes of leather and spice. Smooth tannins and long finish give this wine excellent value.

BK Wines ‘Ovum’ Pinot Gris

Beautiful rich texture on the palate with heady notes of white flowers and jasmine. The wine is fermented on the skins with no chemical additives except a little dose of sulfur before bottling. If you like Pinot Gris from Alsace you’ll love this one.

Pittnauer Rose

This delicious Austrian rose has perfect balanced savory and fruity notes – a little nutty and rich, but also red cherry and cranberry. Juicy but with excellent acidity that makes it delicious to sip on or pair with almost anything.

Paltrinieri ‘Grosso’ Lambrusco

Unusually for Lambrusco, this wine is made in the traditional method – the same time-honored technique used in Champagne. Notes of violet, rose, wild berry, and baking spice.

Torbreck Old Vines GSM
Stunningly complex for the price. Notes of blackberry, bacon fat, cedar spice, and black plum. A must-try if you are not yet familiar with the wines from Barossa.

Cirelli Montepulciano d’Abruzzo

Francesco Cirelli is a talented winemaker who grows not just grapes but also barley, wheat, garlic, figs, and olives. All of his wines are naturally fermented in amphora. His Montepulciano combines elegance and freshness to make the perfect companion to pizza or pasta.

J. Baumer Rhein Riesling

Perfectly balanced fruit, acidity, and sweetness. Delightful mineral notes on the finish – this wine shows surprising complexity for the price. Try with sushi or anything with sweet mustard.

Elio Grasso Dolcetto d’Alba

Elio Grasso is one of our new favorite winemakers – he has a knack for pulling amazing complexity and richness out of underrated Italian varities in Piedmont. Notes of berries, plums, and cocoa with soft tannins. Excellent with roasted meats and hard cheeses.

Bobinet ‘Hanami’ Cabernet Franc

Supple and delicious, the Hanami emphasizes elegance and aromatics over power. The wine expresses itself best while slightly chilled and served with snacks or barbecue. Simply delicious Cabernet Franc!

Andeluna Malbec

A standout Malbec from Silvio Alberto and famed consulting winemaker Michel Rolland. Balanced, full-bodied, with ripe tannins. Rich black fruit with notes od dulce de leche, vanilla, and chocolate.

Castellare ‘Canonico’ Chardonnay

Delicious Chardonnay from one of our favorite Chianti producers. Deep and rich, with toasty notes of baked apple pie, butterscotch, and pear.
